A TRUSTED VOICE FOR ORANGE COUNTY

I have dedicated my life to public service, environmental stewardship, and advocating for the most vulnerable members of our community. As a longtime resident of Central Florida, I have served Orange County in multiple capacities, and throughout my career, I have consistently championed policies that put people, families, and the environment first.

The People's Leader

Environmental Advocacy

I have long been a passionate advocate for Florida’s natural resources. Working with organizations like the Sierra Club and the St. Johns River Restoration Group has allowed me to protect our environment while engaging communities in conservation efforts. I’ve supported waterway restoration, land conservation, and educational programs that help safeguard local ecosystems and improve the quality of life for residents across Orange County. I was honored to receive the Nature Wise – Defender of the Environment Award in 2011 for advancing responsible environmental stewardship.

Equality & Civil Rights
I am deeply committed to fairness, representation, and equal opportunity for all. Through my work with Rainbow Democrats, Ruth’s List, EMILY’s List, the National Organization for Women, and Equality Florida, I’ve championed policies and programs that empower underrepresented communities and strengthen civil rights protections. Promoting equality – both locally and statewide – has been a central part of my public service, and I was honored to receive the Voice of Equality Award from Equality Florida in 2010 for these efforts.

Leadership Rooted in Service

Serving my community has always been at the heart of what I do. I’ve led and supported initiatives that meet real needs in Orange County – from organizing canned food and children’s shoe drives to supporting programs that assist families and individuals experiencing homelessness. For me, service is more than an obligation; it’s about showing up, doing the work, and lifting up neighbors so they can thrive with dignity and opportunity.
